What is hard to understand is why gamers need a special kind of keyboard to enjoy their gaming needs. Normally, a conservative PC owner would be wary of hitting the keys as hard as they can and use the traditional PC towards hardcore games. Apparently, to understand that need and to satisfy the demands, specialized keyboards are being manufactured such as this one from popular brand Logitech.

The Logitech G19 is the latest gaming keyboard from Logitech and the follow up to the successful G15. Whereas the G15 had a orange backlit LCD with nothing but monochrome content, the G19 gets a full-blown color LCD for watching video and showing game stats. If you are an avid gamer looking for a new and cool gaming keyboard, the Logitech G19 may be just what you want.

The Logitech G19 is packed with features including a tiltable color LCD called the GamePanel that sports a resolution of 320 x 240. The keys are backlit and the user can choose which keys are lit and which aren’t for a completely custom layout in a dark environment. Logitech designed the G19 so that it could accept input from five keys simultaneously.

If you have the scratch lying around to spend on the G19, it is hands down the coolest gaming keyboard that Logitech has ever produced. The G19 is equally at home gaming or typing your latest term paper and it looks really cool sitting on the desk as well.

PC Speakers would certainly be the last thing that people would spend for. Although some people still have some brand preference such as Altec Lansing and Labtec, Logitech has joined the fray with these new Omnidirectional PC speakers to perk up sound for gaming and multimedia playback using the traditional PC.

These omnidirectional speakers use the same technology that is incorporated in today’s hi-fi home theatre systems to produce real life surround effects. The Logitech Z-5 speakers use forward- and backward-firing drivers to transmit sound evenly in all directions.

This means the person sitting in the corner will experience the same level of fidelity, depth and bass as the person sitting in the centre or sides feel. Whether you are listening to your favourite track or watching movie, the Z-5 makes sure that you get bass rich sound vibes with minimal distortion at every place in the room.

The brand may direct you towards interface devices and this product may seem experimental. But if you think about it, evening the sound output seems to be a catchy twist that this speakers have to offer and if you really want to spruce up your PC sound playback, check it out and get something different for your audio requirements.

A couple of days ago, my old wireless desktop set (mouse and keyboard) had its receiver die on me. So I had to go out and grab another wireless desktop set for my PC. Microsoft offers some great wireless desktop sets but I decided to go with Logitech's Cordless Desktop S 510.

The Logitech Cordless Desktop S 510 is Certified for Windows Vista and has some great features:

• Programmable F-Keys that can be set to open favorite applications, websites, or files.
• One-Touch Controls that let you access music, video, volume, email, and the Internet.
• Power Management lets you go longer with a low-battery light and auto-off.
• Tilt Wheel plus Zoom allows you to go side to side or in and out on photos, websites or even spreadsheets.

The design of the keyboard is light, thin and simple which is really great.

I see a lot of keyboards with their One-Touch Controls on the top of the keyboard - the S 510 keyboard has the One-Touch Controls on the sides. Volume (music) controls are on the right and on the left is the zoom, internet and sleep/hibernate controls.

The mouse is pretty basic but has the great Tilt Wheel plus Zoom feature that lets me scroll side-to-side instead of just up and down. This is really useful. The Wireless Receiver for the S 510 is made in semi-transparent plastic giving a really interesting effect as you can see inside to the circuit board.

Overall, I'm really happy with my decision to go with Logitech's Cordless Desktop S 510. Logitech also has a really neat website for their Certified for Windows Vista products worth checking out.

I get so annoyed when I install applications only to find that other programs are installed in the background and set to run automatically at startup, without asking my permission. Major culprits are QuickTime, Adobe Acrobat, iTunes and anything from Logitech.
